St. Maria Goretti

Maria Teresa Goretti was born in 1890 and passed away in 1902. When she was 11 years old, Alessandro Serenellis, a friend of the family, made sexual advances towards her. She refused and Alessandro stabbed her 14 times. Before Maria passed,
she forgave Alessandro. After a few years of her passing, the church declared her a saint.

I share my name with this girl.
As a result, I’ve been associated with her my whole life.

I created a representation of the saint and put myself as I am next to her.

A Saint's Life

Maria Teresa Goretti was declared a saint by the church in 1950.

It felt like the church had beautified the life story of the girl whose life was cut short. The next video depicts the tragedy of the life of the girl becoming a saint. The lyrics
of the song ‘Barbie Girl’ by Aqua were narrated to contrast what is happening in the video imagery to make it seem like a joke. Just like the way the church had beautified
